Fovon Privacy Policy
Welcome to Fovon’s Privacy Statement.
We place great importance on the trust you place in our platform and we are transparent about the management of your personal data. Fovon offers a free service that lets users find, watch, share and browse trending user-submitted video content at no charge. This statement describes the types of data we collect, why we collect them, how we use and share your information, and the legal rights you hold over your personal data. Plain and straightforward language is used throughout so that all provisions are easy for users to understand.
Applicable Scope
This privacy statement applies to all websites, mobile apps and online services operated under the Fovon brand (together, our “Services”). The core purpose of our Services is to allow users to discover viral user-generated videos and to view, share and explore all content for free. A link to this statement appears on every relevant service page. If an individual service has its own separate privacy policy, that policy takes priority over this document.
Types of Data We Collect
To enhance your experience of discovering, streaming and sharing popular user-uploaded videos, we collect information about your identity, your activity on our Services, and data received from external third-party sources. Full details are provided below.
Data You Provide Directly
During their use of Fovon, users may elect to disclose particular personal information to the platform, for instance:
- Account Sign-Up: Phone number, email address, gender, date of birth and the user’s personal choices about trending video genres or content categories of interest are captured as mandatory basic details.
- Profile Setup: You may optionally add further details such as your video viewing habits, personal biography, hobbies, personal photos, and any video files you upload to the platform. To upload media, including video clips or profile pictures, you may need to grant Fovon access to your device camera, built-in microphone (required for videos with audio), or your device’s photo and video storage.
- Payment Information: Should optional premium features be offered at a later stage, or should purchases be completed directly within the platform (transactions carried out through external marketplaces such as the iOS App Store and Google Play Store being excluded), payment particulars such as debit or credit card numbers are obtained through our approved payment service providers.
- Surveys and Promotions: Every item of information supplied while participating in surveys, focus groups, competitions or marketing initiatives connected with our video Services.
- Customer Support Interactions: Details provided to our support team when seeking assistance, such as resolving video playback faults or dealing with sign-in issues.
- Third-Party Contact Information: Where contact details of other individuals are entered to make use of friend invitation functions, this data is processed on the user’s behalf. Chat history and all published content are also stored, so that the platform Services continue to operate reliably and securely.
Data Received From Third Parties
- Other Platform Users: Material shared by other members of the community, including reports of violations relating to the user’s uploaded videos or comments posted in public.
- Social Media Platforms: Information obtained when signing in to Fovon through external social accounts such as Facebook and Google, or when importing content from services like Instagram — reposting Instagram short videos to Fovon being a typical instance.
- Business Partners: Details furnished by partner networks carrying our advertising placements, together with data from outside parties that flags accounts suspected of malicious intent, provided the exchange is consistent with applicable local law.
Automatically Collected Data
- Usage Activity Logs: Records of interaction with our video Services — times of login, functions used (playback, sharing, searches for trending topics), reactions to the videos of other creators (likes and comments) and responses to displayed advertisements.
- Device Information: Precise information about the hardware and software of the device, embracing the public IP address, a unique device identifier, app settings, advertising tracking identifiers and cookie identifiers.
- Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies: These tracking mechanisms are employed to identify the device and to deliver browsing experiences tailored to the individual, such as retaining custom video preference settings. At present the platform does not react to “Do Not Track” signals from browsers, as the industry has yet to settle on a single standard for such signals.
- Third-Party Software Development Kits: Tools embedded in the platform — Google AdMob, Firebase and external attribution SDKs among them — may gather device identifiers and activity data in support of targeted advertising and platform performance analysis.
Data Collected With Your Express Consent
- Precise Location Data: Such data is gathered solely with the user’s express consent. Collection in the background may persist where the device’s system settings allow. Withholding location permission may disable location-dependent functions, including the browsing of trending videos produced by creators in the user’s vicinity.
- Photo ID Verification: Facial measurement data (regarded as biometric personal data in certain regions) serves to establish user identity, notably to prevent fake accounts from posting misleading or deceptive video content.
- Additional Uploaded Media: Photographs or videos supplied for the personal profile, or in support of live streaming and content sharing functions.
How We Use Your Personal Information
All collected user data is used to provide, improve and protect our video-focused platform Services, and to show you personalized advertising. Full details of our purposes are set out below.
A. Account Management and Core Service Provision
- Set up and look after the user’s official Fovon account.
- Deliver customer support and answer every service-related enquiry, for example resolving playback difficulties.
- Dispatch platform update notifications, determine pricing for premium packages that may be introduced later, and settle all payment transactions.
B. Video Discovery and Social Interaction
Trending videos from other creators that match your content preferences are recommended to you, and other users can view the videos you upload, subject to your privacy settings. Search functions for finding videos on specific topics are also provided, together with interactive tools for content sharing and public commenting.
C. Development of New Features
Your profile, uploaded videos and content preferences may be displayed on newly released Fovon features or companion mobile apps that align with our core video-sharing platform mission. Unified account management is also enabled across all new platform offerings.
D. Advertising and Marketing
The performance of our advertising campaigns is assessed and platform promotions are run — informing users about new video editing capabilities, for instance. Communications of a marketing nature about products or services that could appeal to users are also dispatched, founded on video browsing behaviour and the use of Fovon.
E. Ongoing Service Improvement
We send user feedback surveys, analyze how community members engage with video content on the platform, and develop new features such as more accurate video recommendation algorithms. Customer support records are also reviewed to improve overall service quality, with a specific focus on reducing video upload failure resolution times.
F. Platform Security and Legal Compliance
We detect fraudulent behavior such as fake accounts uploading stolen copyrighted video content, enforce our Terms of Service, and cooperate with law enforcement when required by formal legal requests. Data related to platform rule violations is also retained to prevent repeated misconduct across our user community.
Legal Basis for Data Processing
The platform processes personal data on the basis of four separate legal foundations:
- Contract Performance: The administration of the registered account and the delivery of all core platform Services, encompassing every purpose set out in sections A through C above.
- Legitimate Interests: The operation of targeted advertising campaigns, the enhancement of platform functionality and the upkeep of community security, encompassing every purpose set out in sections D through F above.
- Legal Obligation: Satisfaction of binding requirements imposed by regulatory bodies, such as responses to court orders and official requests for information.
- User Consent: The handling of sensitive personal data — video preference tags marked fully private, for instance — or the activation of restricted collection functions such as precise location tracking. Consent may be withdrawn at any moment via the in-app settings or by approaching our support team.
When We Disclose Your Personal Information
Disclosure to Other Platform Users
Your public profile and all content set to public visibility (including videos marked “Public” and public comments) are visible to other Fovon users, controlled entirely by your privacy settings. If another user reports content you published for policy violations, updates about our handling of the report may be sent to the reporting user.
Disclosure to Service Providers and Business Partners
Outside vendors that sustain day-to-day platform operations — cloud video hosting services and payment processors, for example — may be given limited portions of personal data. Advertising partners receive only encrypted data in unreadable hash form, so that privacy is safeguarded in full. Every vendor engaged is bound by strict non-disclosure agreements covering all user information they encounter.
Built-In Sharing Features
An integrated sharing function allows video clips or the profile page to be forwarded to external platforms outside the Fovon ecosystem; sharing trending videos through WhatsApp is a familiar example.
Legal Proceedings and Corporate Transactions
Your personal data may be disclosed during formal legal proceedings, such as responding to court subpoenas, or in the event of a corporate merger, acquisition or bankruptcy restructuring, provided such disclosure is required by law or is a necessary part of the transaction.
Disclosure With Your Explicit Approval
Clear affirmative consent is obtained before your personal data is shared with external third parties for purposes unrelated to core platform operation. An example would be partnering with brand partners to promote their exclusive branded video content series.
Aggregated Anonymized Data
Aggregate information that has been anonymised or rendered unreadable through hashing — device hardware metadata and broad demographic figures such as “users who watch music-related video content” — may be shared with outside partners in support of targeted advertising and user behaviour analytics.
Cross-Border Data Transfers
Personal information may be moved to the United States or to other jurisdictions whose data protection legislation differs. Where personal data is transferred from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, standard contractual clauses approved by data protection authorities — or other compliance arrangements recognised in law — are used, ensuring a uniform standard of protection for every piece of transferred data.
Your Rights and Control Options
In-App Account Tools
- Access and Edit Your Data: Profile details can be revised by the user, such as refreshing video content preference tags, or the account settings may be opened to amend any personal information held within the account.
- Manage Device Permissions: Fovon’s access to your device contacts, location sensor and camera can be enabled or revoked through your mobile device’s system settings. Note that disabling certain permissions disables corresponding platform features. For example, camera or photo gallery access must be enabled to upload video content.
- App Uninstallation: Removal of the Fovon mobile app from the device does not, of itself, erase the registered account. All stored personal data continues to reside on the secure servers of the platform.
- Permanent Account Deletion: An account deletion request can be submitted through the platform’s built-in settings. After account deactivation, your public profile and all uploaded videos are no longer visible to other users, but your personal records are retained in strict accordance with our data retention policy.
Legal Rights Based on Your Location
The following legal rights may be available to users, according to their place of residence:
- Right of Access and Data Portability: A complete copy of the personal data held in the account may be requested, delivered in a machine-readable standard format such as a CSV file containing the full video upload history.
- Right to Erasure: Permanent deletion of personal data may be requested, save where narrow legal exceptions oblige retention for compliance.
- Right to Rectification: Inaccurate details in the profile may be corrected, such as updating custom video content preference categories.
- Right to Object and Restrict Processing: Objections may be raised to particular processing activities, or limits imposed on certain uses of data — opting out of targeted advertising founded on behavioural data being one illustration.
Identity verification documents may be requested before fulfilling any data rights request, to prevent fraudulent submissions. Requests that violate applicable local laws, are technically unfeasible, or would infringe on the legitimate rights of other platform users may be rejected. Residents of Virginia have the right to appeal any rejected data rights request. Users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom may file complaints with their local data protection authority.
Data Retention Periods
Personal data is retained by the platform only for the period necessary to achieve business purposes or to meet legal compliance obligations:
- Safety Retention Period: Three calendar months following the formal closure of the account, or one year following a permanent ban. This window permits the team to investigate fully any harmful incidents that may be connected with videos previously uploaded by the user, including prohibited harmful content.
- Retention After the Safety Period:
- Mandatory Compliance Retention: Financial transaction records are kept for ten years; credit card payment details are held until every associated dispute period has concluded; platform user activity logs are retained for one calendar year; and all consent records are stored for five full years.
- Legitimate Business Needs: Customer support correspondence is retained for five years; core metadata demonstrating the existence of the account is stored for three years after closure; profile information is kept for one year to support possible future legal proceedings; and data concerning permanently banned accounts is held indefinitely to preserve community safety.
- Ongoing Legal Proceedings: Personal data connected with live legal claims or regulatory inquiries is held securely until the dispute concerned is fully resolved.
Privacy for Minors
The complete range of Fovon platform Services is directed exclusively at users aged eighteen or above. Personal identifiable information from minors is not actively collected. Any account found to be operated by a person under eighteen should be flagged through the in-app reporting feature.
Minor Safety Policy
The mobile application is not designed for children under the age of eighteen, and personal identifiable data belonging to minors is never knowingly gathered.
A strict zero-tolerance policy is maintained towards child sexual abuse and exploitation material of every description, sexualised video content featuring minors included. Violating content may be reported by any user through the in-app reporting tool, and every report touching on child sexual exploitation material is handled by the moderation team as a priority, with appropriate measures following — removal of the content or temporary and permanent account restrictions among them.
Should it be established that a minor’s personal data was collected without valid parental consent, steps are taken without delay to delete every such record from the secure servers.
Full cooperation with the authorities is extended during formal investigations involving child sexual abuse material, wherever local law demands it.
Questions or concerns about minor safety standards and the protocols for safeguarding minors’ privacy may be directed to the dedicated support team at: [email protected]

Permanent Account Deletion Steps
The procedure for permanently deleting a registered Fovon account is as follows:
- Open App Settings > Account Settings and choose the “Delete Account” option.
- Follow the instructions presented on screen to begin the deactivation and deletion process.
Your account is deactivated immediately when the deletion request is submitted. All stored personal data (including uploaded videos and profile information) is kept for a seven-day recovery period, in case you wish to restore your account. You can log back in within those seven days to cancel the deletion. Once the seven-day recovery period ends, all personal data is permanently and irreversibly deleted, with no option for recovery.
Thank you for making Fovon your video-sharing platform. The team remains wholly committed to the protection of your privacy and to the provision of a secure, fully transparent environment in which users can freely discover, stream and share trending user-generated video content.
